State Your Cause Backstage Blog

So I know I haven’t posted in a while.. we have been so busy and we had a day off at home. Anyway, last week we played the note in Westchester, Pennsylvania. As soon as we show up our manager Doug surprises us with a LOT of mcdoubles and mcchickens. Here is a picture even after we ate a few.

That wasn’t the only thing we ate.. the bar fed us too.

The only other thing I can say about that show is James fell off the stage.. and yes there is video.. he hits the ground and says “I lost my shoe!” The front monitor nearly landed on top of him.. I’m not going to post the video yet because it will be going in the next video blog.. out of being so busy i havent gotten a chance to go over the hours and hours of video I have to edit.. but I promise it will be out in the next week so stay tuned for that!

So over the weekend we played the Smiling Goat Saloon in Zanesville, OH. We got pizza and beer and played an hour cover set. A regular SYC set.. and James and I ended the night with about two hours of acoustic. It was an awesome time as always.

The next day we all dispersed to our seperate homes. Took showers, ate food, spent time with friends and family.. that night we played a festival called Hogjam. It was nice to see some home town crowd.

The next day we had off so we had a good bit of r and r.. and that very next morning we left at 6am to play Johnson City, Tennessee.

The venue was called Capones.. It was obvious the people there were strictly there just to rock out. There were seats where the crowd was but they were quickly moved for standing room. We had such a blast and met so many cool people.. I can’t wait to play there again.

So we’ve been in New York for a couple of days. I didn’t really do a good job at taking a whole lot of pictures though.. we were in Maryland last time I left off. We got to hang out with our friend Drew Barerras and we met a lot of cool people.

The next day we played Webster Hall in New York City. First time I’ve ever been to the big apple.. it was crowded but awesome. We got to hang with our manager Doug again.

The day after we played Ollie’s in Amityville. I really wanted to check out the horror house but we didn’t have time.. the show was great though. Definitely not what I expected.. the crowd was incredible.

Now its Friday and we play the Note in Westchester Pennsylvania. Now excuse me while I dig into some Popeye’s chicken. Until next Blog!

So yesterday we left Wallys to head to our manager Doug Weber’s house. We hung out, talked about some things. He bought us some amazing pizza. Sadly I failed at taking a picture of the pizza.. but I assure you it was incredible. Anyway, here’s a picture of Doug.

We left there to head to one of Chases friends house and we crashed. We woke up to breakfast. I had toast, eggs, and a donut.

We’re here at Recher Theater in Baltimore now. We’re about to set up our gear. The only other eventful thing that has happened is that I got retweeted by the Legend of Zelda. Here is a picture.

So last night we played Bleachers in Bristol, Connecticut. We played cornhole, ate pizza, ate chicken wraps, played Mario Kart and met some really cool people.

Today we are at Hampton Beach in New Hampshire. We saw the ocean.. buried me in the sand.. and ate some awesome food here at Wallys. Everyone got New England clam chowder and grilled cheese. I got a Burger.. haha

So last night (7/20) we played the Rock Junction in Coventry, Rhode Island. Evans Blue’s sound guy Frank got us lunch which was AMAZING.. here’s what I had..

Its called the Inferno Burger. It was delicious.

There were four opening bands so during our down time we played some Mario Kart on Matt’s laptop. We have PS3 controllers that control the N64 emulater via Bluetooth. Yes Matt is a genious. I’m still a champion though. I was Yoshi.

This was a pretty special show because Evans Blue’s Merch guy Josh had to leave for vacation the next morning.. we actually just dropped him off personally. Anyway Josh looks straight up like captain Jack Sparrow.. so we decided to change our intro to the Lonely Island song “The tale of Captain Jack Sparrow” in honor of him.

After the show we stayed at a hotel and got some much needed rest… and MUCH needed showers..

So we’re on our way to Bleachers in Bristol, Connecticut.. and I see this in the sky..

So we pull into The Rock junction in Coventry Rhode Island. Conveniently there is a Walmart right across the road where we could pick up energy drinks and whatever else bands need to survive. Toward the end of our visit at Walmart we see on Facebook that Matt had updated his status..

Thing is we didn’t leave. So I responded with this photo with the caption “Still here.” and I tagged Matt in it.

We walked outside and the van was nowhere to be found.. so Matt assumed we just left him. We called James and he said he was still inside, we assumed he was in the van. Apparently James wanted to mess with us so he moved it to the back of Walmart. He had the intention on Justin, our camera guy, getting video of us going to security and watching the security footage of him hopping in and pulling around back to mess with us.. but we ended up finding the van. Just an average visit to Walmart with State Your Cause.
